Sofie Bayer is a newly licensed Florida attorney and recent graduate from Barry University School of Law. Prior to joining Waugh PLLC in 2022, she obtained her bachelors degree from Florida Atlantic University majoring in healthcare administration. Immediately upon graduation, Sofie worked full-time as a legal assistant in healthcare revenue cycle management.

Sofie then attended law school where she served as a Student Bar Association senator, earned a book award, and studied abroad in Spain. Through Barry’s VITA Program, she was also a volunteer income tax preparer for individuals and families in the community. During her last semester at school, Sofie gained valuable insurance defense experience as a law clerk with a local firm in Orlando. After earning her Juris Doctor, she joined Security First Insurance Company as Senior Paralegal where she supported in-house attorneys in first and third party property litigation.

As a first-generation American and daughter to Ukrainian immigrants, Sofie also speaks Russian and enjoys visiting her family in Sarasota. Outside of work, her hobbies include photography, rock climbing, cooking, and traveling.
